The One and Only...Michael Kors!

I know that I haven't posted in a long while but I have been so busy with the holidays that I haven't even really had time to breathe.  So I am writting a post right now about one of my most favorite designers of all time...

Michael Kors!

Some of you might know him from the show Project Runway (one of my favorites to watch!), he is a fantastic sportswear designer. His clothes, bags, shoes and accessories are beautiful and luxurious, I personally would buy almost anything from him...the only thing I don't care for is when he puts fur in his collections which is more popular during the fall collections.

I think the thing I love the most about Michael Kors is that he uses classic lines for almost everything he designs. Most if not all of the things he creates are things that can be worn year after year, they will never go out of style...

On the left side in the picture above is Jennifer Hudson, the right is a Michael Kors model.  This is a really great example of how great his clothes are, they look flattering on almost any figure. I mean lets face it, not all of us are skinny minis like the model above. More of us are curvy and beautiful like Ms.Hudson, and you can see that this outfit looks awesome on both of them! I don't know about you, but I would wear this outfit!

Now on to every girls favorite thing...SHOES! Michael Kors designs shoes to die for....and not just heels ladies, I know that we all love to wear heels but if you're 5'11' like me you tend to tower over everyone when you are wearing 4 inch heels.

Okay, so now you have a taste of his shoes...on to bags.

A Michael Kors bag is like carrying a little piece of heaven with you, they are beautiful shapes and colors and textures.

Okay so last but not least, accessories.

So in short, all things Michael Kors are beautiful. Although some items are pricey, they are well worth the money because they will last you a very long time. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Until Next Time

Wonderfuly Decadant Cookies

I just made these great cookies! I got the recipe off of the back of a Hershey Kisses bag. They are called Kisses Magical Cookies...

They taste so good! It's basically a sugar cookie-like shell with a Hershey Kiss in the middle. They are so gooey inside, this is definitely a cookie for the chocolate lover/chocoholic in your life.

The recipe goes as follows

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • About 48 HERSHEY'S KISSES Brand Milk Chocolates, unwrapped
  • Powdered sugar
 Directions
1. Heat oven to 350°F. Beat butter, sugar and vanilla in large bowl until creamy. Stir together flour and cocoa; gradually add to butter mixture, beating until blended. Mold scant tablespoon dough around each chocolate piece, covering completely. Shape into balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

2.Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Cool about 1 minute; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. Roll in powdered sugar. Roll in sugar again just before serving, if desired. About 4 dozen cookies.

So that's it for this post. Please try these cookies, they are delicious! They would be great for a holiday party or just because you wanted some really yummy cookies!

Wow, It's cold...

Since today was so cold I thought that I would post about my most favorite thing about winter...the pea coat.

The pea coat should be in every single persons closet, even men...

These coats are so elegant and are flattering on most body types.  They also come in so many patterns and colors. My favorite is the classic black, herringbone, and tweed. The are also very warm, made of wool and most of them are fully lined.

These coats are so great for any kind of outfit, it can be dressed up and dressed down.  You can wear it at any age (I've been wearing a pea coat since I was 14 and I'm 20 now). You can get the relatively cheap or you can get designer coat for more money.

Target/$27.98

Michael Kors/$210.00

In short, get a pea coat.  They are the most versatile winter garment. They are warm and fashionable, this coat will never go out of style. I love this kind of coat and you should too.

Until Next Time...

The Winter Dolman Sweater

This post is going to be all about the Dolman sweater. I love these sweaters.

Some people may not know what a Dolman sweater is, to put it in basic terms, when someone refers to a shirt or a sweater as a Dolman Sweater or a Dolman shirt they are referring to the sleeves.  A Dolman sleeve is very similar to a bat wing sleeve, it is loose at the top around the armpit and gradually gets narrow toward the bottom of the sleeve.

There are so many different ways to wear this kind of top, it's also made out of many different materials that you can find one to wear in any season.  The two pictures above are examples of the Dolman shirt that would be warmer to wear during the autumn or winter.

These Dolman sweaters are also very fashionable for this season, I have gone into so many stores and so many of them are selling this Dolman sweater.  The one pictured above can give you an idea of considering a print rather than buying solid colors.

The two Dolman shirts above are great for layering.  Again, layering is something that has been popular for some time now.  These two are made of lightweight cotton so wearing them by themselves during the winter wouldn't be the best idea, however if you were to add a camisole underneath, maybe something trimmed with lace and some chunky jewelry and a dark pair of jeans or dress pants you can dress it up or you could just wear a basic camisole of the same of different color and dress it down. It is a versatile garment that I believe every woman should have in her closet for this season.

Until next time.

Winter Weather Accessories

Since it's December and it's getting cold (or already cold depending on where you live) I thought that I would tell you about two of my current favorite cold weather items.

The first cold weather item is the trapper hat.
I love the trapper hat for many reasons.  The first being it is an extremely warm hat for very cold weather.  The second being I find them very cute, I've noticed a lot of people wearing them this year.  They come in so many different patterns, colors, and fabrics.
The second item I love for cold weather days are convertible gloves.  They are a hybrid of a glove and a mitten.

Just like the trapper hat these gloves come in every color and pattern.  They are the best kind of gloves to have this winter, they're so great because you can have your warm mittens and when you need to pull out your phone and send a text message or an email and when you're done you can just put the mittens back around your fingers.
So that's it for my first post.  I hope you enjoy it. :)
